Resin Driveways & Paths – Essex

Whilst a tarmacadam or concrete driveway functions, it can often be less than appealing and never contributes to the aesthetic of a property. Then imagine a driveway that has a natural stone appearance, compiled of colours and textures individually chosen by you to provide a surface that is as unique as your home. A low-maintenance and hardwearing solution, guaranteed to have a great looking finish.

The transformation can take as little as one day.

1. Some initial preparation is made to every surface: sweeping the surface, jet washing and drying with gas torch is usually enough.
2. The area is thoroughly checked for defects then the area is covered with a primer.
3. High quality decorative aggregate is mixed with polyurethane resin to the manufacturer’s recommended specifications in a specialist forced action mixer, providing a high strength structure.
4. Skilled craftsmen than take the resin bound stone and lay it by hand to a depth of 18mm to provide an impressive, seamless finish.

The driveway is guaranteed for 10 years!

  • How much does a resin driveway cost?

The cost depends on several factors, such as:

the area that needs to be covered
the base on which it is to be laid upon
any preparation work we need to undertake
any bespoke features that are requested.

  • How does resin bonded differ from resin bound?

The main difference between a resin bound and resin bonded systems is simply that one is porous, and the other is not.

Bound: The main aggregate is mixed with resin in a mixer and then hand-trowelled into place to produce a surface that is smooth and porous.
Bonded: A layer of resin is screeded onto a surface and then a fine aggregate is scattered over the top and rolled in. This produces a rough surface that is not porous.

Porous resin bound surfaces perform better than non-porous resin bonded ones, allowing drainage of water and better environmental compliance.

  • Where can I have resin bound driveways or paths?

Resin bound driveways or paths can be installed almost anywhere, providing that a suitable base has been installed prior to the installation.

  • Does the resin change colour over time?

No, the resin we use at Resin Driveways R us are UV-stable and have been manufactured in such a way as to remain clear for the many years to come.
