✔ A MOT Type 1 aggregate sub-base (a blend of fine and coarse stones) is laid in multiple layers and compacted for superior stability.
✔ A porous monolithic binder layer is applied and rolled level to create a durable, well-draining surface.

3. Mixing & Coating of Specialist Resin Bound Aggregate

🌀 Precision Mixing:
✔ High-strength polyurethane resin is combined with specialist dried aggregate in a forced-action mixer for a precise amount of time.
✔ Every stone is fully coated in resin, ensuring a uniformly strong, durable, and resilient surface.

  • Can resin bound surfacing be laid on my existing surface?

    In order for reliability the base would need to have the same lifespan as your new resin bound surface. A new base is preferable.

  • Is the stone natural or man made?

    We always use all natural stones with our resin bound surfacing installations. This is to ensure that you get a natural look for your project. The main types of stone used are gravel, quartz, flint, granite and bauxite. It is also possible to use stone that has been artificially coloured (pigmented). This means that logos can be replicated to an exact colour to match the original.

  • Is the resin bound surface strong enough for vehicles?

    Because of the hardness of the stone used, and the way the mixture is formulated, the surface can be used by vehicles. If the resin bound surfacing is for a path, a softer aggregate can be used, such as marble.

  • What will happen to resin bound surfacing during extreme weather?

    Since our resin bound surfacing has cavitation within the mixture, water will run through the surface and back into the ground. This stops water from pooling on the surface, which can lead to a freezing problem. During times of extreme heat the resin bound surface will remain cooler than asphalt or concrete, due to the cavitation allowing air to circulate through it.
